Shock Alleviators from ShockGuard
Shocks are alleviated by shock alleviators because for example a Jumboflex from ShockGuard has an elastic capacitance that will allow the progressive
deceleration of a liquid mass against increasing resistance, so providing an
increase in the time available for stopping the flow, so that a shock will not
occur.
When JumboFlexs are to be used as Alleviators for Shock they are pre-filled with
air to 80% of the theoretical steady state line pressure so that as the head
increases they can begin responding immediately.
Shock Alleviators are installed close to any valve that may slam closed, this
ensures the maximum performance from a Jumboflex membrane.
